WorkCampConnect aggregates job listings from seven trusted sources alongside listings posted directly by employers like you. When members browse the job board, paid employer listings get priority placement — they appear above the imported jobs.
What priority placement gives you
- Top-of-page positioning in category pages and search results.
- Visual differentiation with a prominent gold-framed card and a solid "Direct Employer" badge so members know they're viewing a job posted by the employer themselves.
- Repeated exposure — your listing pins at the top of the list and re-appears further down with a "Featured listing" marker, so members see it more than once.
- Higher click-through rate than imported listings, based on member engagement data.
- Multiple categories — your listing can be shown across several relevant job categories, not just one, so it reaches more browsers.
Why it matters
Members trust direct-from-employer listings more than scraped jobs. The "Direct Employer" badge signals that you're a real, contactable hiring manager — not a job board re-listing the same role across 20 sites. That trust translates to higher application rates and better-fit candidates.
How long priority placement lasts
Priority placement is active for the full 30-day duration of your listing, from the moment it's approved through the day it expires. Renewing extends the placement for another 30 days at the cost of one credit.
Where your listing appears
Your priority-placed listing appears in:
- The main job board at /jobs/browse/ — pinned to the top of the list, and again partway down with a "Featured listing" marker.
- Category filters — when members narrow the board to a category, including any extra categories your listing is cross-listed in.
- State filters — when members narrow the board to the state you're hiring in.
- Search results when members search for matching keywords.
- Email job alerts sent to members who match your role's profile.
What priority placement is NOT
Priority placement is not the same as paid promotion or sponsored ads. We don't sell ad slots that displace organic content. Priority placement reflects the simple fact that you (the employer) paid to post directly, while imported jobs were aggregated from public sources.
It's also not a guarantee of applications. The number of qualified applicants depends on your role's appeal, your description, the location, and the time of year. Priority placement gets your listing seen — your description does the converting.
Boosting your listing further
The biggest factors in your listing's success, beyond priority placement, are:
- A clear, specific job description (see the AI listing creator)
- A complete company profile with photos and what makes working with you great
- Realistic pay and benefits clearly stated
- Quick replies to applicants — see managing applications
