Kimsquit Estuary Conservancy

British Columbia

Kimsquit Estuary Conservancy was established as part of government’s land use decision for the central coast planning area. Located at the mouth of the Kimsquit River at the head of the Dean Channel, this large estuary has very high conservation values. It receives heavy use from grizzly bears and contains important habitat for juvenile salmon. Recreational opportunities include grizzly bear viewing and sport fishing for coho salmon and cutthroat trout.
