Managing Your Household
WorkCampConnect account types are flexible — you can sign up as Solo, Couple, or Crew / Family, and switch between them any time as your life changes. This article covers everything you can do from the Dashboard → Account → My Household tab.
Adults on Your Account
Every household has exactly one primary adult — that's you, the account holder. Couple accounts add a partner. Crew / Family accounts add up to 4 more team members (6 adults total).
Adding an Adult
Crew accounts only. Go to My Household → Adults and click Add adult. Enter first and last name, and optionally an email address for that person. If you enter an email, they get their own verification link.
Removing an Adult
Click Remove next to any non-primary adult. The primary account holder cannot be removed — they're tied to the account login. To change the primary, you'd need to contact support.
What happens when you remove someone: their name disappears from your profile, map pin, and emails. Any parts of your household resume that were attributed only to them are reassigned to the remaining adults automatically — nothing gets lost or orphaned.
Per-Member Email Verification (Optional)
Each adult can have their own verified email. This doesn't create a second login — the account still has one set of credentials. It just gives that person their own contact address. To add, edit, or remove a member email, use the buttons on their row in the Adults section.
Household Children
Children can be listed on Crew / Family accounts with a first name and age range only. There is no field for birthday, last name, or photo — this is intentional.
Children's Privacy Acknowledgement
The first time you add a child, you'll see a short privacy notice covering the four compliance promises we make about children's data. You only have to acknowledge this once per account.
Adding a Child
- Go to My Household → Household Children
- Click Add child
- Enter the child's first name
- Select an age range: Under 5, 5–12, or 13–17
- Click Save
Editing or Removing a Child
You can update the age range (say, when a child moves from the 5–12 bracket up to 13–17) or remove the child entirely at any time.
Changing Your Account Type
Account types can change whenever your situation changes. All conversions keep your membership, username, forum history, resume, and saved jobs intact — only the profile shape changes.
Solo → Couple
Click Convert to Couple. Enter your partner's first name. That's it — both names now display everywhere.
Solo → Crew / Family
Click Convert to Crew. Enter an optional team name and at least one additional adult. You can add more adults later.
Couple ↔ Crew
If your partner and you pick up a third traveling adult, convert Couple → Crew. Going the other way (Crew back to Couple), pick which adult stays as the partner; the rest are removed.
Couple or Crew → Solo
If you're going it alone now, convert back to Solo. The non-primary adults are removed, and the account keeps just you.
What Doesn't Change When You Convert
- Your membership tier and billing (Full Hookup or Base Camp)
- Your username
- Your forum account and post history
- Your resume (though attribution may shift to the remaining adults)
- Your saved jobs, favorites, and bookmarks
- Your map pin location and visibility settings
