Signing Up as a Crew or Family
Some work-camping households are bigger than two adults — parents with adult kids on the road, siblings sharing a rig, multi-generational families, or a travel crew working the same seasonal gig. The Crew / Family account type is for you. One shared account, up to six adults, optional children listed by age range.
What You Get With a Crew Account
- Up to 6 adults on one membership. No extra charge per person.
- Optional team name (for example, "The Smith Family" or "Road Crew 3"). The team name appears on your profile, map pin, and emails.
- One login, shared tools. Resume, saved jobs, forum account, map pin — all shared.
- Per-adult email verification (optional). Each adult can add their own email later if they want individual notifications.
- Children can be listed with a first name and age range (Under 5, 5–12, 13–17). No photos, no birthdays. This is for employer matching on family-friendly jobs, not for social display.
How to Sign Up as a Crew or Family
Step 1 — Choose "Crew / Family" on the registration start page
Visit workcampconnect.com/register. Click Crew / Family.
Step 2 — Name the crew and list the primary adult
Enter a Team name (optional — leave blank if you'd rather use the primary's last name, like "The Smith Family") and your own first and last name as the primary account holder.
Step 3 — Add two more adults right now
On the signup form you'll see two fixed slots for Adult 2 and Adult 3. Fill in whichever ones apply at signup. You don't have to fill both — if it's just you and one other adult right now, leave Adult 3 blank. If you have more than three adults, you'll add the rest from your dashboard after signing up (see below).
Step 4 — Choose one username, one email, one phone, one password
The crew has one login. Pick a username everyone's happy with — it represents the whole crew in the forum and across the community.
Step 5 — Verify by text message
Same 6-digit-code flow as any new account. You can also click the verification link in the email we send.
Step 6 — You're in, and your 7-day Full Hookup trial begins
Once you verify, your crew account is active, the team name shows up everywhere, and you have full Full Hookup access for 7 days at no cost.
Adding the 4th, 5th, and 6th Adult From the Dashboard
Once logged in, go to Dashboard → Account → My Household. Click Add adult. Enter their first and last name (and optionally their email). Repeat for each additional adult, up to the 6-person cap.
If you added an email, that adult gets their own verification link so they can confirm their address is correct.
Adding Children (Age Ranges, Not Photos)
To list children on your household profile:
- Go to Dashboard → Account → My Household
- Scroll to the Household Children section
- Acknowledge the Children's Privacy notice (one-time, per COPPA)
- Click Add child
- Enter a first name and pick an age range: Under 5, 5–12, or 13–17
Important: We intentionally do not store birthdays, last names, or photos for children. No child photo uploads anywhere on the platform. This is a deliberate design choice, not an oversight. See our Privacy Policy § Children's Privacy for the full set of compliance promises.
Children are listed on your profile for the purpose of helping employers match family-friendly job listings — they are never shown publicly with identifying information.
Switching Between Tiers
A Crew can switch to Solo (keeping only the primary) or to Couple (keeping primary + one partner) at any time from Account → My Household → Change Account Type. Your membership, username, and forum history carry over. See Managing Your Household.
