Creating Your Account
Visit workcampconnect.com/register to get started. You'll need to provide your name, email address, a valid mobile phone number (US or Canada), and create a password.
Choose How You Travel
The first thing the registration page asks is how you travel. Pick one of three account types:
- Solo — You travel on your own. One name, one account.
- Couple — You travel with a partner. One account, both names listed everywhere. See Signing Up as a Couple.
- Crew / Family — Three or more adults on the road (family, siblings, travel crew). Optional team name, up to 6 adults, children listed by age range. See Signing Up as a Crew or Family.
Same price regardless of tier. A Couple or Crew account pays the same $8.95/month or $89.50/year as a Solo account — one membership per household, not per person.
Why a Phone Number Is Required
WorkCampConnect requires a valid phone number for every new account. Here’s why:
- Instant verification — A 6-digit code is sent to your phone by text message so you can activate your account in seconds (no waiting for an email to arrive).
- Fraud protection — Phone verification helps keep spam accounts and bots off the platform, which protects the community and the job board.
- Account recovery — If you ever lose access to your email, you can reset your password using your phone number.
- Optional security alerts — You can opt in to receive a text message if unusual activity is detected on your account.
Your phone number is never shown to other members, never sold, and never shared with advertisers or any third party. SMS is delivered via Twilio. Standard carrier message and data rates may apply. See our Privacy Policy (Section 6) and Terms of Service (Section 9) for full details.
Choosing a Plan
During registration, you'll select a membership plan:
- Start Free Trial — Get 7 days of Full Hookup access at no cost. No credit card required. After the trial, your account moves to Base Camp (the free tier) with no obligation.
- Monthly ($8.95/mo) — Full Hookup access billed monthly. You'll complete checkout after verifying your account.
- Yearly ($89.50/yr) — Full Hookup access billed yearly — save 2 months! You'll complete checkout after verifying your account.
Invited Members
If someone invited you to WorkCampConnect, simply register using the same email address the invite was sent to. The system will automatically detect your invite and apply your membership plan — no code needed!
Registering with a different email? You can enter the invite code from your email instead.
Account Verification
After submitting the registration form, you’ll receive a 6-digit code by text message at the phone number you provided. Enter the code on the verification screen to activate your account instantly.
You'll also receive a verification email. If you prefer, you can click the link in that email instead of entering the SMS code — either method activates your account. If you selected a paid plan, you'll be taken to checkout after verification.
How Did You Hear About Us?
We ask all new members how they found WorkCampConnect. This helps us understand our community better and is required to complete registration.
Changing Your Phone Number Later
You can change your phone number at any time after registration from Account Settings → Phone Number. The new number must be verified by text message before it replaces the old one. Note that a valid phone number must remain on file as long as your account is active.
